Newer houses, two different methods
Florence is mostly newer construction: vinyl siding and brick veneer, two- and three-car driveways, back patios and walkways. That combination needs two opposite treatments on the same property.
The concrete wants pressure. Concrete is porous, so oil, tire marks and the grey film that builds up in shade work down into the surface where a hose cannot reach. Force lifts it, and concrete is tough enough to take it.
The house does not. Pressure on vinyl drives water up behind the laps and into the wall. Siding and veneer get soft washed at low pressure, with a cleaning solution killing the algae at the root. Beds and landscaping get wet down and rinsed before, during and after.
Northern Kentucky holds moisture, and green on the shaded side of the house is the most common thing Kentucky customers call us about. If one wall is green and the rest are not, that is the side that stays damp longest after rain.
